SUMMARY:Oregon Logging Conference
DESCRIPTION:Three men decided in 1938 that there needed to be a regional logging forum in Oregon to exchange ideas and that is how the Oregon Logging Conference was established.\nThose three men were Archie (A.N.) Whisnant\, who was secretary of the Pacific Logging Congress\, Col. William Greeley who was secretary of the West Coast Lumbermen’s Association\, and Herb (H.J.) Cox\, who was secretary of the Willamette Valley Lumbermen’s Association. \nWhat became the Oregon Logging Conference in 1959 was first established as the Willamette Valley Logging Conference. The first gathering was held August 25 & 26\, 1939 at the Osburn Hotel in Eugene\, Oregon. What was described as a “modest” machinery show of tractors and trucks was also held this year\, scattered on city streets and parking lots adjacent to the hotel. \nToday\, the Oregon Logging Conference is the largest equipment show west of the Mississippi. \nIn the 1940s\, the conference was held in May\, with the exception of 1945 when the conference took place in November. In the 1950s\, some years it was in March and some years in May. Since 1957 until today\, the conference has taken place in February. No matter what the month\, over the years\, all gatherings were held in Eugene. \nToday\, the Oregon Logging Conference is one of 6 regional conferences that meet annually. The others are: Olympic Logging Conference\, Intermountain Logging Conference\, Sierra Cascade Logging Conference\, Redwood Region Logging Conference and BC Truck Loggers? \nSince the beginning\, the Oregon Logging Conference has stayed true to its founding principle of assisting logging and forestry professionals in their pursuit of excellence and advancing natural resource-based industries. \nThe Oregon Logging Conference Foundation\, OLC’s educational arm\, is focused on education and outreach to attract the next generation workforce in the logging and forestry industry. DESCRIPTION:The Loggers’ Expo is presented by the Northeastern Loggers’ Association and is co-sponsored by the association and the monthly magazine –The Northern Logger and Timber Processor.  Staff and the Expo is overseen by our Board of Directors\, a group of industry volunteers from around the Northeastern region.  The Expo is managed by Joe Phaneuf and Kristin Armendola. \nThe Loggers’ Expo location rotates between Bangor\, Maine and Essex Junction\, VT. The show typically features 175-250 exhibiting companies and attracts a range of 5\,000 to 7\,000 attendees – comprised mainly of active industry decision-makers. The Expo has become the place where serious business is accomplished between buyers and sellers of forest industry equipment\, supplies and services. It features a mix of live demonstrations and static displays – with both inside and outside displays. \nThe 2025 Expo is coming to the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor\, Maine and we’ll return to the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction\, Vermont on May 1-2\, 2026. \nEmail expo@northernlogger.com or call (315) 369-3078 to get on the distribution list for exhibiting information for future shows.

DESCRIPTION:Grain SA’s NAMPO Harvest Day is one of the largest agricultural exhibitions under private ownership in the southern hemisphere and it takes place annually\, just outside of the town of Bothaville\, in the Free State province of South Africa. The first NAMPO Harvest Day was held in 1967\, on the farm\, Donkerhoek\, near Bloemfontein and was attended by 200 producers. Thereafter the Harvest Day was held on various farms until the size of the event started necessitating a more permanent venue. In 1974 the NAMPO Harvest Day was therefore established on a permanent terrain outside Bothaville\, which is today known as NAMPO Park.
